Angels and demons at ISFM congress!

The ‘blue devil’, aka Mike Brampton, managing director of Thames Medical, and Estonian veterinary surgeon Olga Sjatkovskaja, took the prizes for this best male and female outfits at the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) ‘Elegance to decadence’ theme party. The party, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim, was held in one of the most exclusive and splendid buildings in Vienna, the Kursalon, during the annual ISFM European Congress, (June 23–26). Most of the 200 people lucky enough to obtain a ticket for the event, spent time on the dance floor creating an interesting vista of swirling dresses, bobbing long wigs and gyrating extravagant outfits!

The ISFM Vienna Congress brought together 495 people from 26 different countries to learn more on feline ophthalmology and respiratory disease from world class speakers David Maggs, Lynelle Johnson, Christine Heinrich and Cécile Clercx. Printed proceedings of the event can be ordered from www.isfm.net for £40 (inclusive of P&P and VAT). A downloadable version will be made available soon from this site.

More photographs from the Vienna Congress, including some outrageous outfits, will be posted on www.isfm.net and on ISFM’s facebook page.

Next year’s ISFM European Congress programme on Feline diagnostics will be held in Budapest (June 13–17, 2012). Details will be posted on www.isfm.net.
